Which camera?
What camera should you take? We are of the opinion that the best camera is one you already have. If carrying around a costly DSLR is too overwhelming be at ease knowing that a consumer camera such as the Canon Power Shot SX540HS can do the job as well.
Its slim form factor that weighs just 442g, makes it extremely portable. This Power Shot SX540 HS also has an adaptable lens that can be used as a wide-angle 24mm and a telephoto 1200mm lens. The camera also has Wi-Fi built-in which allows you to upload your images almost instantly!
If you’re carrying lots of equipment you might want to think about a cushioned camera bag, since it distributes the weight equally over your back. As we’re recommending light travel but let’s start with a lighter bag.
We love messenger bags as they allow you to get your gear into just one movement. These bags can also be kept close to your body in areas with a lot of people.
If you’re in a location that is known for pickpocketing we suggest making use of gaffer tape cover up any visible branding on your bag, so that you’ll not be an easy target.
Your bag must also be weatherproof or at the very least, weather-proof. One of the last things you want is gear that is too wet for work!
Packing your camera bag:
Don’t leave it to the last moment! We strongly recommend beginning earlier when you are packing your new camera bag the first time.
